Dr. Diaz is a sports medicine, fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon. Orthopaedic surgeons are physicians specifically trained to diagnose and treat
musculoskeletal problems. Much of their efforts are devoted to helping athletes return to sport through both non-surgical and surgical measures. After
careful examination of the athlete, the orthopaedist may order and interpret x-rays, MRI's or other tests. Treatment often includes medication, physical
therapy and in some cases injections or surgery. Major advances in sports medicine over the past two decades have allowed orthopaedic surgeons to treat many
musculoskeletal injuries more effectively, and rehabilitation and recovery times have been reduced.
